Tierra del Fuego, especially Ushuaia, is a privileged place for the practice of winter sports. Cerro Castor is located close to Ushuaia. With a diverse and complete offer, together with the great disposition of the slopes, it allows to enjoy the longest ski season in South America. The most representative winter activities are alpine and Nordic ski, snowboard, ice climbing, snow raquet shoes, ice skating, dog sledges and snowcat trips. Calafate is located up northwest, at only one hour by plane from Ushuaia. This makes it ideal to combine the trip with a visit to the glaciers. Declared Patrimony of the world in 1981, the Parque Nacional los Glaciares is a place that is worth visiting because of the majesty of the thousand of hectares of ice blocks that descend from the mountain into the southern lakes.
