Day 1
Transfer by regular bus to El Chalten ,which is located on the northeast margin of the Viedma lake, at the foot of the imposing Fitz Roy hill; famous all over the world as the meca of trekking , high mountain and access to the Continental Ice.
El Chalten,the youngest town in Argentina, keeps growing year by year thanks to its special magic that so much appeals to nature lovers the world round
The first 32 km. are paved then there is gravel; taking the legendary 40 route to the north we will cover 74 km. through the typical patagonian steppe where your sight merges with the infinite horizon till you reach the bridge over La Leona river from which the Viedma Lake springs.
Tour to the head of the lake where you have an incredible view of the Fitz Roy hill and the Torre hill.
Then you leave route 40 towards the west, till you reach El Chalten which is located at the foot of the Cordillera de los Andes , an imposing mountain ridge ( total km. 216 –estimated time duration by bus 4.5 hours)
At El Chalten the tour continues in a smaller and more agile vehicle for 15 minutes along the route that borders the La Vuelta River to the inside of the Cordillera where El Pilar Inn is located in an unmatching scenary on the banks of the river and towards the Fitz Roy ; a privilidged place where you discover the magic and the charm of virgen nature .Marcelo Pagani ,a very good andinist, will welcome you with the warmth that characterizes him and you will have the pleasure to enjoy his excellent cooking abilities .
Day 2
After breakfast and in the company of an experienced guide you will walk to one of the last base camps for the expeditions to the granite walls of the Fitz Roy.
You walk along a solitary path that borders the White river ,under the shadow of the Notogfagus forest where woodpeckers are a frequent view till you reach the camp at the White river.
The trekking presents no difficulty during the first 2.5 hours .As from the White river there is a marked unlevelling of the terrain (45 minutes ) till you reach the pond of Los Tres .
Once there the view that it offers is a reward to the effort. In this magnificent scenario we will have a picnic to regain strengh to go back to the inn (3hours trekking)

Day 3
GLACIARS On the third day a second trekking excursion is planned within the surroundings.
The guide will decide the itinerary according to the weather condition and the group .You will have a picnic for lunch .

Day 4
Transfer from El Pilar to El Chalten to take the bus back to El Calafate
